There are zero(!) quarterbacks drafted in the first round from 2009 to 2016 who will be playing for their original teams in 2021. This is an absolutely shocking statistic to me for a variety of reasons, including the unique set of circumstances required for this stat to become true. First of all, we’re talking about the recent climate of the NFL where quarterbacks are playing well into their late 30s & early 40s. Secondly, there are 22 quarterbacks on this list which is a fairly large sample size over an 8-year period. Finally, very few of these quarterbacks have been successful for their original teams and/or other teams in the NFL. Let’s evaluate the quarterbacks on this list based on their draft class & draft position amongst their peers.
