*This mock draft is a prediction of what I think will happen, not what I would necessarily do.
1) Jacksonville - Trevor Lawrence QB Clemson - The Jaguars finally secure their franchise QB by drafting Trevor Lawrence with the no.1 overall pick. Lawrence has excellent physical tools and solid fundamentals.
2) New York Jets - Zach Wilson QB BYU - There’s buzz surrounding the Jets liking BYU QB Zach Wilson, and I believe the rumors to be true. Wilson is an exciting playmaker at the quarterback position, as he frequently dazzled with downfield throws in college. Time will tell if Wilson can overcome the difficult situation he looks to be stepping into, though.
3) Carolina (Mock Trade) - Justin Fields QB Ohio State - Panthers’ new owner David Tepper is firm on wanting a franchise QB. If Carolina can’t get Houston to budge for Deshaun Watson, trading up for Justin Fields is the next best option. Fields looks like a more refined version of Jalen Hurts from last year.
4) Atlanta - Ja’Marr Chase WR LSU - Arthur Smith and the Falcons make a savvy move by adding an ultra-talented receiver to an offense that already has Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley. Atlanta can add to their defense in later rounds or with cheap free-agent contracts.
5) Cincinnati - Penei Sewell OT Oregon - The Bengals get head-and-shoulders the most solid offensive lineman prospect since Quinton Nelson in 2018. Cincinnati desperately needs to get Joe Burrow some protection.
